COMMERCIALS
Getting your message across to its target audience in under 30 seconds can often be quite a challenge. We have produced over 80 TV commercials for terrestrial, satellite and cable channels and over a wide range of budgets. Focal Point TV recently won a best TV commercial from broadcaster NTL. We can also provide up to date advice on all the latest technical and licensing requirements, ensuring a hassle free production on time and on budget.
TITLES AND EFFECTS
We do all our title and effect work in-house – from simple captions and basic logos, to green screen, multi-layered composites. We use the latest industry standard special effects software, but are just as confident at using traditional in-camera filming techniques – providing a unique and cost effective way of delivering a fresh look to your project.
DVD AUTHORING
The majority of homes and businesses now have DVD viewing facilities (using a DVD player or a PC) and it’s become the standard way of viewing finished programmes. We keep all our DVD authoring in house which means your finished film can include a fully interactive menu if necessary, or simply play on insert. DVDs can contain different languages on the same disc, have subtitles, be formatted for different territories around the world and even be copy protected.
DUPLICATION
We offer high quality duplication in most popular formats. We can duplicate from programmes made by ourselves, or from tapes supplied, to DVD & VHS (in any world wide standard). MULTI-MEDIA
As well as providing finished films for the Internet, we also provide work in a large variety of other multi-media formats. A popular programme we use is Power Point – where we either embed movies into presentations, or provide stylish background templates for clients to lay their text and graphs over. We also handle CD-Rom authoring & duplication via established partnerships with specialist multi-media companies.
WEB READY CONTENT
The Internet has become a major destination for the work we produce. There are many considerations concerning file formats, sizes and download speeds that we can advise on. We are also experts at creating ‘web friendly’ versions of films made primarily for other media such as DVD. What looks great on your TV may be too detailed when down-sized for the web – small text is a great example. With years of experience, we avoid these problems right from the start of production.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES
Focal Point TV are very experienced in producing foreign language versions of programmes. This can mean simple subtitles, re-dubbing new voice-overs, recording interviews in different languages, or changing graphics and text. Because of the differences in how languages are spoken and written, films made with these variations need to allow flexibility in their construction, to cater for this time factor. We have a large roster of talented translators and have worked in most languages, including Chinese, Japanese and Thai.
3D ANIMATION
One of the things that impresses our clients most is the use of 3D graphics and animation as standard – all part of the service we offer. All of our editors are 3D trained, and this approach has been the reason for the many awards we have won in this area. 3D work can mean anything from a simple logo through to a complete animated world – it does not have to be expensive! DESIGN AND PACKAGING
We offer a convenient and effective ‘one stop shop’ service to our clients. We can design and print DVD and video covers, supplied in a variety of packaging options, to suit any budget. We also offer in-house photography, both digital and conventional, to the highest standards. Photography is often integrated into our video services at no extra cost.
DOCUMENTARIES
We have produced over 50 one hour documentaries on a variety of topics for broadcast and DVD release. We are always interested in developing co-productions and finding new partners for distribution and licensing. We have extensive experience in licensing archive footage and music, and supply production facilities for overseas television companies.
RETAIL DVD & VIDEO
We produce large numbers of films for the DVD/Video market – our clients have included WH Smith Exclusive, Polygram, Woolworths and Castle Vision. We are one of the biggest producers of music documentaries in Britain, having produced over 30 titles for Chrome Dreams and Leftfield Media.
TRAINING
A good training film can increase efficiency and motivate your staff, improve customer care and enhance your image and reputation. We have produced many programmes that prove training does not have to be dull and boring! Often a film can double up as a useful client promotional tool, and still accomplish its training brief.
CONFERENCE
We supply conference content and event filming services. In times of stress, our customers can trust us to provide peace of mind. We also like to think we are fun to work with! Clients such as The Book People rely on us to provide them with 20 films a year for their twice yearly conferences. For the last 9 years we have exclusively filmed and edited the huge IPEX print exhibition for a massive global audience, producing DVDs, CD-Roms and web media.
PR VIDEO
We work with many advertising and PR agencies, both large and small, and are used to handling the important agency/client relationship. We offer full project management, including development, writing, shooting, editing, voiceover recording, DVD authoring, duplication and package design. We also have close working relationships with a number of associated media services, such as print, AV hire and specialist filming services.
